My name is Joel Hernandez, I currently live in Houston TX and am a husband to Olivia Hernandez and a stepfather to two young men Adrian 25 and Dylan 21. I have been a follower of Jesus Christ since 2016, a member of New Life Church where I attend a men's group because I believe in a healthy community where men can be sharpened by each other. Before my conversion I lead a sinful life not knowing mytrue identity in Christ which led me to 20 years of incarceration, Now as a believer my desire is that all find their true identity and purpose in Christ.

Before giving my life to the Lord I was a broken woman.  I personally know what it's like to feel as if there is no hope. Because of my past hurts I did not believe in love. My view of people was that everyone leaves and cannot be trusted. My sources of comfort were anger, drugs, and drinking. In 2017 all that changed for me when I received Jesus Christ!  Through the support and encouragement from some newfound friends and a church. that accepted me as is and showed me nothing but love. I later by my own free will gave my whole life and heart to Jesus. From that moment a new desire was born in me. Something I had never experienced before. A new found  love had filled me and I was on fire for Jesus.
